Epic Cols: The World's Greatest Climbs – Captured.

Shimano rider and professional photographer Daniel Hughes is on a mission to capture the world's greatest climbs – and search for even greater. Creating Epic Cols with his partner Carali McCall, Hughes’ collection of climbs with breathtaking photographs make widespread the debate, what is the greatest climb?

Talking about Epic Cols, Hughes says, “Alpe d'Huez is the most cycled and Googled climb on the planet, and there is good reason for that with its huge history on the mountain, but does that warrant its position as one of greatest cycling climbs? There are simply so many more incredible climbs worth reading about."

Well known climbs such as Col du Tourmalet and Col du Galibier are included in the eight featured Cols, as well as lesser-known climbs, including the Col de la Loze, which has only recently been opened, and quite possibly could be decisive in the 2020 Tour de France. Also selected is the Valle Nevado in Chile, which Hughes considers among the best climbs in the world.
