Shimano at Eurobike

Europe’s biggest bike show is often a chance for us to unveil our latest offerings. And this year is no exception.

We will show our new METREA urban concept bike on display. We will also demonstrate our e-bike commitment with new STEPS technology in the form of a light off-road setup. Recently released products, such as Deore XT M8000 and 2016 footwear, are bound to be attracting plenty of attention too.

Before the show opens its doors, Eurobike’s Demo Day gives trade visitors and journalists the chance to test ride our XTR and Deore XT groupsets, our hydraulic road disc brakes and our SHIMANO STEPS city or light off-road e-bikes, and take a tour in our brand new events truck.

Here’s a sneak peek for what each section has to offer:

Shimano Road

•    Test the shifting of groupsets from Dura-Ace (Di2 and mechanical), Ultegra (Di2 and mechanical), 105 and Tiagra.
•    See how Shimano hydraulic and cable-operated disc brakes perform.
•    Shimano’s disc- and rim-brake wheel line-up will be on display, from professional level Dura-Ace to its competitive level RS-81 wheels.
•    Bikes from the superstars of road cycling will be on display, including Tom Dumoulin’s Giant TT and John Degenkolb’s Paris-Roubaix Giant Defy Advanced SL (Giant-Alpecin), Bauke Mollema’s Trek Madone 9 (Trek Factory Racing), Robert Gesink’s Bianchi Oltre (Lotto JumboNL), Michael Matthews’ Scott Foil (Orica GreenEDGE) and Chris Froome’s Pinarello Dogma F8 (Team Sky).

Shimano MTB

•    The new Deore XT M8000 groupset brings a comprehensive range of components and wheels for all your mountain-biking adventures.
•    Shimano’s XTR M9000 groupset brings lightning-fast electronic and mechanical shifting to off-road terrain. Check out the technology with three XTR Di2 test displays and two Di2 test bikes.
•    Bikes from Shimano-sponsored riders including Julien Absalon (BMC Mountain Bike Racing Team), Jolanda Neff (Stöckli-Pro-Team) and Gee Atherton (GT Factory Racing) will also be on display, giving you the chance to see up close what makes these bikes the machines of victory.

City & Touring

•    SHIMANO STEPS e-bike systems are given the limelight with fun touchscreen displays, a Tech Talk desk and a number of personas, showing how e-bikes are bringing cycling to a much wider audience than you ever thought
•    SHIMANO STEPS city/comfort and light off-road e-bikes will also be available for test-riding during Eurobike at stand FG-O/306.
•    Shimano also proudly presents concepts of METREA, a new design for new urban cyclists. The creation of a realistic city center apartment gives you an idea who this new style of bike is designed for.

Soft goods & electronics

•    Shoes include highlights such as the stunning limited-edition M200B and podium-topping AM9, plus feature-packed every day models too.
